Image To Word (Poetry)

Dear Fellow Bloggers,

Today, I viewed a painting of a hare and my objective was to construct a poem from this image. Below is the poem I constructed:

I am a large bunny
With fur so soft and cuddly
Many individuals want to hug me
Because I am as sweet as honey

My name is Young Hare
And I poses large extending ears
I have a fluffy coat of brown hair
With a cotton ball tail placed on my dairare

My life is filled with little action
My hobbies include eating, drinking and relaxing
Well I think that I have done enough yapping
So you can watch me while I am napping

The Day of the Webquest

Hello fellow bloggers! Today in class, I learned the following:

a) what a webquest is
b) how to analyze a webquest
c) how to develop a webquest

Webquest is a tool that I can use to incorporate technology into my lessons. What a webquest is is a web based lesson. In order to understand how to create my own webquest, I had to analyze wbequests that were already developed by other educators. I worked in a group with two other classmates and we analyzed two webquests- a) Who Wants To Be A Millionare? and b) The Gilded Age. Each of us analyzed the webquest through a specific perspective. The four perspectives were: a) the efficient expert b) the affiliator c) the altitudinist and d) the technopile. My role in the group assignment was the affiliator. I documented my opinions about both webquests on a worksheet. Overall, I felt both sites were well developed. The webquests provided academic rigor, incorporated group work and was engaging to the students. Now I have to develop my own webquest. I only hope that it will be as good as the ones I analyzed.

Introduction

Hello fellow bloggers! My name is Henry Johnson. Presently, I am a teacher at Thomas Giordano Middle School (M.S. 45). As you may tell from my URL, I teach mathematics. I have taught at M.S. 45 for two years. During this time frame, I have taught sixth and seventh grade. I became a teacher in 2003 through the New York City Teaching Fellows. While teaching, I am simultaneous taking graduate courses to earn my masters in mathematics education (7 - 12 grade). One of the courses I am required to take is ESC 529 - Language, Literacy & Educational Technology. The objective of the course is to provide me with the tools necessary to incorporate technology into my lessons. It is through this course that I have learned how to blog. Thus far, I find the course interesting and feel that it will add an important component to my teaching resume.
